Who We Are
USSE is a Texas‑based distributed energy developer focused on first‑principles engineering and straightforward economics. We structure Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and optional battery integrations that immediately reduce operating cost while improving resilience.
Our approach removes friction: we handle design, interconnection, financing, construction, monitoring, and O&M. You receive a single predictable kWh charge—no CapEx, no performance headache.
We operate with a lean stack and transparent pricing so savings flow to customers rather than intermediaries.

Founder
Tanner Timbrook is a lifelong builder who moved from scripting games and studying Python at the University of Helsinki to solving real‑world infrastructure problems. He blends software thinking—iterate fast, instrument everything—with disciplined project finance to unlock clean energy for facilities that historically hesitated due to cost or complexity.
Beyond USSE, Tanner manages properties and works in software—keeping him grounded in operational pragmatism and customer value. That perspective shapes our principle: if the economics don’t work on day one, we haven’t engineered hard enough.
Origin & Inflection Points
Texas Grid Failures (2021)
Winter blackouts exposed fragility + volatility; small & mid‑size facilities lacked capital or bandwidth for on‑site resilience.
Modeling & First Principles
Benchmarking utility escalation (4–6%/yr typical) vs fixed/low‑escalator on‑site generation made the savings arbitrage obvious.
Financing Structure Refined
C‑PACE + PPA hybrid paths dialed in to eliminate CapEx while preserving transferable economics on property sale.
Battery Integration Playbook
Standardized sizing heuristics for peak shaving & critical load backup; streamlined monitoring and alerting stack.
Launch & Scaling
Scaled pipeline with a lean partner network: engineering focus retained, overhead minimized, value kept customer‑side.
Mission & Values
Our mission is to compress the timeline to positive cash‑flow clean energy for under‑served commercial facilities—making resilience and sustainability default, not premium.
Affordability First
Engineer out margin layers so a lower kWh rate is guaranteed, not optimistic.
Radical Transparency
Plain‑English contracts, published assumptions, open performance data.
Resilience by Design
Layer storage & controls so critical ops ride through grid instability.
Iterate & Instrument
Continuously refine yield, O&M intervals, and financial models via real data.
